Merry X-mas with OC spirit!

Christmas...
A season of giving and receiving, loving and being loved, gathering and bonding, eating and drinking...

This Christmas, OC'11 and OC'10 had a huge gathering, meeting to eat, chat, and just spend time together. It means a lot to still be in contact with most of them from the past comms, and despite our busy schedules, to arrange for meet-ups. 2 years may have passed since OC'10, but the friendships and bonds are here to last.

May the meet-ups never end~

Dinner time!! See all the desserts?

Doing our part for the enviroment

Being green and nice to the environment is important for the society. Because of global warming, pollution, diminishing forest, and a limited supply of natural resources, people are becoming more aware of the importance of protecting the environment

To cut the long story short, Orientation Committee + Subcomms went down to Bishan HDB estate to do our part in helping the community go GREEN. We went around the estate, knocking on each door to collect old newspapers, plastic bottles, old clothes and anything that can be reused, recycled, or reduced!

However, we will not miss any chance to have fun!

Heavy heavy! WnL so strong wor~

Many many!!

Our mini collection point.

Holding the garang guni trolley is indeed a new experience!

Friendly people who helped us collect!

Finally! The last of the trips!

Subcom Cohesion 1

Our 6-week holiday finally started! Naturally we just can't let our precious holidays pass in vain, so we had our very first official Subcomm Cohesion

A 2day-1night event, this is one of OC's major projects this holidays... the aim is to encourage all subcommers - GLs and proggies to mix and mingle, foster new friendships and help us test games which freshies might be playing!!!(oops... did I reveal too much???)

Kudos to the main comm proggies who slogged day and night last week before to do up all the props, go through the games...

Sounds fun right? I shall stop here and let the pictures do the rest of the talking!!

See the bright smiles? its gonna get more exciting~

Fighting!

Tired Maincommers @ the end of Day 1!

Day 2: Fun at the beach!

And finally, Group photo! Main comm + Subcomm <3

Special Thanks to our wonderful subcomms who came down for our Subcomm Cohesion!! *hugs* Much thanks for the feedback, and hope u guys had fun too!!

So, look forward to games this FOC'12~!!!

StandChart Marathon

Exams finally end le!!!

After all the mugging, must be time for some fun right? =D

Our very first event after exams ended is...
The Standard Chartered Marathon!
(FYI: the SCM has 3 races: 10km, 21km & full marathon (42.125km). This mega project requires alot of manpower. It started as an unknown event in 2008 and has become a yearly affair for Singaporean runners.)

The whole orientation committee went down to the event, not as runners but as volunteers! It was a good way for us to not only have fun and bond overnight together, but also to help canvass money for camp, and to show support for OC members who went to run the marathon!!

Our group was assigned to the water point and we were required to reach at 11pm the night before. We started unpacking the boxes from night till early morning when the race would start. Take a look at our pics below and see how we spent the night together~

We finished unpacking the bottles of water...
(and of course sat around chatting, htht-ing, playing games while doing that =D)

...and poured them into cups

Just look at the number of cups we lined up to be filled! (and this is only just the start @@)

Uncapping all the bottles so that we can fast-fast refill all the cups!
(Unity in teamwork~)

Happy and tired... waiting for the race to start

The race started le!!! sooo many runners!
"Quick!! Get your drinks before you run out!!"

I have to admit this was a tiring event, but nonetheless a good experience. We had lots of fun working together through the night~

Lastly, to all runners: hope you guys had fun and achieved your targets!
See you guys next year!

CAC Members' Night

CAC Members night was awesome!
(Read the previous post if you don't know what i'm writing about~)

In my opinion, it's the best mass cohesion in NTU!!! There was such a huge gathering, where all CAC members got together to eat, chat, mingle, play games, and just have lots and lots of fun in general =D

CAC!! <3
There were lots of exciting performances from our members clubs: MJ, jazz, Hip hop, Slasa, dancesport academy, break dancers, wushu, chinese dance. A group of super talented people!!

The organisers also had many interactive games to keep us occupied throughout the night. We had to bond not only within the committee, but with people from other committees as well, so that we can help one another during the games.

One of the games!! Work as a team, dress your team member as a ____
Ours is.... *drum roll*
A SOLDIER!!!

Can tell?
Not to forget the good food!! It was buffet-style...so filling and awesome!

And of course, the most important part of the night?
The camwhoring!!! =D
OC are the zi-High type and we not only made lots of noise, participated actively in all the games, we love to camwhore and spam lots of pictures too ^^

Check out the some of our photos below to see how OC managed to carry off the 'kampong' feel~!!

CAC OC 1st meeting.

It's been some time since our first post, and I'm back for more updates!!
(feeling super excited and enthu now =D)

A few days ago, Orientation Committee (OC) had our very 1st meeting! It was quite a unique experience - sort of like a 'swear-in' ceremony. Which was quite unexpected, since I thought this was only done during army (Guys: Remb the day before us guys have to enlist at P. Tekong??? Sounds familiar?).

Vincent (OC Director'12) opened the meeting with an intro to CAC FOC and the plans, expectations for this year...we definitely want to make FOC'12 more fun!

After admin stuff, we started bonding games!! With... self-intros~ Besides some seniors, there are lots of familiar faces, because many Ingenium freshies also joined FOC main comm!! It's a very comfortable and fun atmosphere. Everyone's super excited to get started!!

Treasurer (Vivience) hard at work!! *whyyy so serious~*
Busy writing notes?
Super relaxed atmosphere - both juniors (l) & seniors (r)
CGL & ACGL (1) excited and ready!!

As a junior, I am very glad that seniors from FOC'11 comm also came back to teach us about portfolio management, survival skills and tips on how to survive. They are really so caring! awww... so *awghsome*!!!

After meeting was over, the fun began!! 2 traditions were passed down:
1) Postcard messages! (For us to look back and see how we grow from now till next Aug~)
2) Monthly birthday celebrations~
